Special Ministries of the Holy Communion
The Special MInisters of the Holy Communion of Santisimo Rosario Parish was formed in August 10, 1985, during the tenure of Fr. Gallardo Bombase, O.P. as parish priest. The group started with five members composed of Bros. Gem Pleta, Pablo Dais, Jaime Limchoco, Jaime Santos and Arcadio Ramos Jr. Today, its ranks has swelled to include thirty devoted and dedicated men. At the start, they were designated as Special Eucharistic Lay Ministers. in 1995, their name was officially changed to Special Ministers of Holy Communion.
The Lay Ministers' apostolate is to bring the Holy Eucharist to the sick and aged parishioners who can no longer go to the church to receive the communion, aside from their regular duties during Sunday masses. They do this not only on Sundays but on any day of the week that their services are needed.
All Lay Ministers undergo a yearly renewal formation conducted by the Archdiocese of Manila to further deepen their spirituality and strengthen their commitment to the Lord.
They meet regularly every third Sunday of the month and hold a monthly Holy Hour every second week.
